The women’s volleyball team started their season with a 10-game winning streak. During the Summer Slam conference, Lions won 3-0 against both Wayland Baptist and Northwest University. The volleyball team was consistently dominating the beginning of their season, with their winning streak only coming to an end with their final score of 2-3 against Menlo College.
For freshman volleyball player Callista Noel, the loss only puts the team in a position to improve and provides a challenge.
“So far doing well, it’s exciting that we are going well even though we lost our last game, we are working hard to get back to the level we were back at before,” she said.
For women’s soccer, the team started their season with four wins against teams around the Midwest and California. Their season started Aug. 22 with a 5-0 win against Indiana Wesleyan University. Their game against Pomona-Pitzer ended their winning streak with a one-goal deficit. However, they made a comeback with a four-goal shutout against University of Jamestown and now holds a 6-1 record.
Vanguard’s men soccer team started off their season at the UNOH Classic.
